‘Queering the Landscape’ is an ongoing project by @jote.mahern & @river.bourne .
. “Queering the Landscape is an art and storytelling project exploring the powerful and complex ways people relate with the more than human world. The project began with the question ‘How does the wild, more than human world support queer identity?’ Evocative conversations and interviews fuel the creative process and bring forward the personal stories of earth tenders, artists, and activists in text.”

‘Water as Lover’ story :
.
My ancestors come from Lietuva – Lithuanian for ‘Land of Rain’. We come from a place of reverence for the waters – the big water of the Baltic Sea, and the little waters of dew, droplet, rain, pond, lake, stream, river, and community cleansing ‘dumo pirtyje’ (in steambath). There are many traditional folk songs that reference, honor, and revere water in its many forms. As an ecosexual, to me nature is sexuality, the reaching thrust for life, more life. The fecund, fantastical freakiness of the full spectrum of aliveness. Nature is exploratory, diverse, and rewards pleasure-seeking bonding behaviors. The depth of my intimacy is found in water. In this life, I have not yet experienced another entity giving me an orgasm. The only element that has overflowed my orgasmic container is water. Growing up, I would lay in my pink bathtub and turn the knob with my toes in the air, wriggling to position the stream from the faucet just right, letting the waves come. Mingling with the waters, I lose myself in source.
