mother from drip series >< Inspired by blood red sunsets and rust soil of the iron oxide tinted earth of Australia and my childhood growing up in a forest preserve of oak Prarie >< a cut away revealing immense long roots of wild grasses, normally invisible, that hold the water in the soil and the earth in place, steadily absorbing, cradling, enfolding, and preventing erosion. Remember the dust bowl was due to monocropping farming tilling turning up the long rooted Prarie grasses + ranching cattle with large hooves smashing and compacting the soil. Thus the breadbasket of the US in the Midwest was turned into a desert where the fertile topsoil was carried away in the wind. Alternatively bison, the native creatures what evolved in conjunction with this ecosystem, support bringing back the Prarie. Bison, with their dainty deerlike feet that aerate the soil, maintain the health of the earth. If you’re a meat eater, research eating bison and venison over cow to reduce your impact on the planet. Deer and bison are also leaner and healthier for the human body system to assimilate well.
